Our very own Tina Aswani-Omprakash, MPH, had the opportunity to contribute to a recently published BMJ State of the Art Review on the medical management of IBD. Written for healthcare providers, the review summarizes current evidence on IBD diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment, with an evolving focus on patient-reported outcomes.
Importantly, it also includes a dedicated patient perspectives section, centering lived experience alongside clinical evidence. The decisions informed by this work directly shape patient care and including patient voices helps ensure research and treatment goals reflect what truly matters to those living with IBD.
