Our very own Tina Aswani-Omprakash, MPH, was a co-author on an important white paper commissioned by Johnson & Johnson, titled “The Power of Community in Inflammatory Bowel Disease.” The white paper drew on a survey of over 500 adults living with IBD in the US. It highlighted that 84% adults living with IBD experienced IBD-related stigma and carried a significant psychosocial burden that impacted their quality of life. In addition to access to treatment options, the white paper emphasized the importance of community support in navigating the invisible psychosocial challenges of living with IBD.
